Veteran Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has responded to growing calls for his return to the Indian cricket team. Several former cricketers, including Ravichandran Ashwin, have suggested that the experienced pacer should be considered for the 2027 ODI World Cup. However, Bhuvneshwar clarified that his primary motivation is not a comeback but his passion for the game.

Speaking on the RCB Podcast, Bhuvneshwar said he continues to play in the IPL, domestic cricket, and the UP T20 League because he genuinely enjoys cricket. He stated that representing India has already fulfilled his dream and that he has nothing left to prove. While he would be happy if another opportunity to play for India comes his way, he prefers to focus only on what is within his control. The 36-year-old last represented India in 2022 and has played 21 Tests, 121 ODIs, and 87 T20Is.
